While doing some routine maintenance, a few particular logs stuck out and appeared to clash with
the last two comments posted. Apparently, this "ex employee" shares the exact same address and
operating system as "Carl", a current employee. The situation only worsens when Carl logs in from
both his posting address AND this so called ex employee's address.

kay i used to work for them, but i got an eerie feeling and quit. - they assured us everyone was getting their magazines and it was ot a scam… now i dont so much believe them. no they dont have social insurance numbers or ur credit card numbers unless u gave it to them.if you have ever signed up for something in a mall, or filled an on line survey out - thats how they get your information. if they call. calmly ask to be placed on the “do not call” list - they have to stop calling you. if not you can sue them. dont feel anything against the marketers, they like myself are all underage kids who are suckkered into thinking we are only selling to “upper to middle class income families who have bought from a service like this before”. no one has any idea - i didnt until an ex co worker pointed this out. i feel so bad. i am sorry
I’m a current employee for this company, and yes, it might seem off putting that we are selling magazines on the phone but I can’t stress this enough - don’t be rude. This is my job. We all have to make a living. I don’t rip people off. I am never disrespectful or pushy towards customers. I love my job because I can actually have conversations with REAL people, and believe me, we aren’t scamming you. It is cheaper than buying one magazine at the news stand, and although it works out to a large amount over 5 years you are saving money. There is no doubt about that. I spend 5$ a week on absolutely nothing. It’s not like 20.00$ a month is a lot of money. If you buy coffee every day for five years it would work out to the same. I’m simply asking you to be polite and understanding, because if you yell at us as another “telemarketer” and not a human being, you are prejudging. We’re not all cold blooded sellers. It’s called the Do Not Call list. Before you swear, ask to be put on that. Thank you.
The scammer's first responses, the happy customer routine
alright everyone, here it is, here’s the truth: Summit reader Services is a real business. Now the people who call you are just trying to do their jobs, most of them are not there b/c they want to be but b/c it’s not exactly easy to find a job. Now, although some may have had a few bad phone calls, so what? do you know how many people they have to deal with in a day? do you even know how many death threats they have to deal with in a single day? probably more than you have had to deal with in your lifetime. here’s the thing, if you agreed to the offer and got ur tracking number, it means the deal is done. it means that you’ll be receiving the confirmation package and the magaines will start coming in a couple weeks. if yo u didn’t get your contract number, you dont have a deal and you wont get paid any further, don’t worry. Honestly, i’d take the offer. understandable that u would be skeptical, don’t worry, some workers will get angry if you are skeptical, not b/c of you, but b/c they hate their jobs 20x more than you hate their calls. if you don’t want it, dont take it, it’s as simple as that. and it doesn’t matter where ppl are calling from, they are contracted by the summit reader services, either in utah or Las vegas. dont worry about cancelling, you are paying for a service you will be receiving shortly, it’ll just take little while.
ment to sy: you won’t get billed further and I Did take the offer
okay? this is odd. I made a response to your blog earlier, and oddly enough, it seems you pick and choose which responses to post and which ones to delete… No offense, but that seems like a scam to me. You know, I can understand you wanting people to think that everything you say is true, but no matter what you do say, the truth remains the same: The Summit Reader Services is a decent company, with hundreds of employees simply trying to do their job… case and point. There is no scam. If you agree to the magazines and get your contract number (it comes at the end of the convo with the supervisor), you’ll get your magazines, if you don’t get a contract number, nothing gets billed to the card, because that, my friend, would be illegal.
